Vote For Carolyn Maloney

We are heartbroken to lose Carolyn Maloney as one of our Queens representatives in Congress. While we will still have her in Roosevelt Island in the new term after her reelection, we will miss her fighting on our behalf in Washington. Throughout her career, Rep. Carolyn Maloney has advocated for federal investment in our city – and since her election to NY-12, has brought home over $10.7 billion in funding to improve the jobs, infrastructure and quality of life available to the people of Western Queens. She has secured $37 million in federal stimulus for Queens Plaza Roadway, $814 million for the new Kosciuszko Bridge, $203 million for the East Side Access project, $306 million for the 63rd St. F TrainTunnel connector to 21st Street. She pushed for federal funding to secure our waterfront and piers. She is the only person in Congress to build two vaccine centers, one in Astoria Houses and one in Queensbridge. She established six Section 202 senior centers including HANAC and Variety Boys and Girls Club Senior Housing in Queens, and countless millions more to improve our schools, parks, hospitals, public housing and more. In the recent medical crisis, she negotiated millions for our city’s hospitals and brought emergency relief to businesses and individuals in the district, and worked to improve emergency services. As chairwoman of the House Committee on Oversight & Reform, and a member of the Select Committee on the Coronavirus Crisis, she has ensured that our district has an even louder voice on the issues that matter most: equal rights, a strong economy, protecting and expanding healthcare, and safeguarding our clean air and water. Recently rated as the #2 leader in Congress, Maloney has shown through her hard work and dedication that she has earned another term representing NY in Washington – and the Queens Gazette Editorial is proud to endorse her in her 2022 re-election campaign and we want her back representing us.
