United Way of NYC Together We Thrive: Black Business Network Hosted 40 Designers at NYCxDesign

The United Way of NYC’s Together We Thrive: Black Business Network hosted 40 Black designers as a part of the 10th Annual NYCxDesign Festival, which was held from May 10-20. Together We Thrive is a broad coalition of government, nonprofit and corporate partners to support Black-owned businesses in New York City.

In February 2021, UWNYC launched Together We Thrive in response to the disproportionate impact of Covid-19 on Black-owned businesses to build their financial health, and to align, activate and increase the capacity of existing systems to meet the needs of Black entrepreneurs in New York City.

Hosted annually, NYCxDESIGN is NYC’s signature design festival showcasing the best talent, from around the world, in multiple locations throughout the boroughs. Together We Thrive’s hosted events highlight Black designers, makers and manufacturers, who are too often excluded from design fields, at locations in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, Jamaica, and Harlem. All events are free and open to the public with pre-registration at certain locations.

In Queens the event was held on Wednesday, May 18th, at The Harvest Room (90-40 160th Street, Jamaica, NY 11432).

Together We Thrive Jamaica Black Entrepreneurship Networking Event, a hugely successful event came back for its second year… an amazing opportunity for NYC-based Black entrepreneurs to network and learn more about the Black business landscape in New York City.
