Tour Queens’ Historic Vanderbilt Motor Parkway

The Vanderbilt Motor Parkway was the first highway to have bridges and overpasses in the entire United States and the first reinforced concrete connection between New York City and Long Island. And it was in Queens!

On Saturday July 25, 1 pm, join Queens Historical Society’s unique virtual tour! They will be exploring the neighborhood on foot and learning about its intricate histories from their tour guide Rob Mackay, Marketing & Tourism Director at Queens Economic Development Corporation. The tour will be a real-time live stream event via Instagram Live. Go to www.instagram.com/queens_ historical_ society to visit QHS’ Instagram page, and follow them to get notified when they go live! You will need an Instagram account to view. (To get a free account, simply visit www.instagram.com/accounts/emailsignup/ Instagram does prefer a mobile device and will limit your ability to browse it if you connect via computer.)

RSVP is encouraged. Registered audiences will receive email notification beforehand. But “virtual walk-in” is absolutely welcome!
