Susan DeLeon, art director at St. Andrew Avellino Catholic Academy (35-50 158th St, Flushing), coordinated the 23rd Annual Art Exhibition at St. Andrew’s. All the artwork was created by the students, from kindergarten to 8th grade. Ms. DeLeon transformed the school cafeteria into an “art gallery” with elaborate themed displays done by each grade. With her special talent, DeLeon makes art fun and is able to bring out the creativity in all the students. The exhibition gets better each year. Next year a cocktail fundraiser will be held in conjunction with an exhibition, with proceeds going to QSAC (Quality Services for the Autism Community) to help autistic individuals.
