Queens Metropolitan High School JROTC’s Distinguished Guests

On Friday, March 17, the Queens Metropolitan High School JROTC program held an event to honor distinguished guests for their support of the growing program. These guests included NYS Senator Joseph Addabbo Jr., Staff Sergeant Luis A. Jordan of the New York National Guard Whitestone Armory Detachment, as well as Aman Meknonen, the local franchisee (owner-operator) of the Elmhurst-Jackson Heights Chick-fil-A (82-23 Baxter Ave). All three distinguished guests to the school made monetary and material donations, as well as donations of their time. The Queens Metropolitan High School JROTC program is incredibly thankful for the support of these individuals. Principal Saida Rodriguez-Tabone and staff JROTC Advisor Eric Stein presented the guests with an Honor Guard ceremony as a thank you for the support of the growing program. “It is not without shared community involvement that programs such as this may flourish. If you are interested in assisting with the JROTC program at Queens Metropolitan High School (91-30 Metropolitan Ave, Forest Hills), please contact the school at (718) 286-3600,” organizers said.
