Probe Infant Death in Dutch Kills Migrant Shelter



Police are investigating the death of a three-month-old girl who was found by her

mother unconscious and unresponsive inside a migrant shelter in Dutch Kills

on Jan.21.

Cops said officers from the 114th Precinct in Astoria and FDNY medics responded to

a 911 call of an emergency at the Queens County Inn and Suites at 40-34 Crescent

Street in Dutch Kills, where they found the mother and infant.

The baby was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital of Queens, where she was

Pronounced dead a short while later.

It is unsure if the infant, identified as Yuleisy Astudillo, had suffered a cardiac arrest.

The city medical examiner will determine the exact cause of death.

No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.
