Planet Fitness Celebrates Grand Opening of ‘Judgment Free’ Club in Forest Hills

Planet Fitness, one of the largest and fastest-growing franchisors and operators of fitness centers, celebrated the grand opening of its newest New York location in Forest Hills.

The new club, located at 107-02 Queens Boulevard, offers state of the art cardio machines and strength equipment, 30-Minute Express Circuit, numerous flat screen televisions, fully equipped Black Card® Spa, and more. The 16,000-square-foot facility is open and staffed 24 hours a day from Monday to Friday and 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

As part of the club’s grand opening promotion, members can join through Wednesday, Aug. 10 for just $1 down and then $10 a month.

No matter your fitness level, our new Planet Fitness club has something for everyone,” said James Innocenti, Chief Operating Officer of PF Supreme LLC, a Planet Fitness franchise. “We are excited to bring this new, clean, state-of-the-art facility to the Forest Hills community.”

The new Planet Fitness location recently held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the addition, and was attended by NYS Senator Joseph Addabbo; Lynn Schulman, Council Member for City Council District 29 and Health Committee Chair; Ebony Young, Queens Deputy Borough President; John Perricone, Special Assistant for Economic Development, Queens Borough President’s Office; Heather Beers-Dimitriadis, Chair, Queens Community Board 6; and Frank Gulluscio, District Manager, Queens Community Board 6.

“After getting an exclusive tour of the club before it opened, what a great sight it was to see all of the Queens residents who have already signed up getting a workout in and the employees working at the newly created jobs during the grand opening celebration,” said Sen. Addabbo. “We need more businesses like Planet Fitness that will benefit an individual’s mental and physical health, as well as much needed social interaction, especially while we battle another wave of COVID. I wish Planet Fitness great success and look forward to them opening even more clubs in Queens.”

“It’s so important for folks to have a place to come to get a basic workout in that’s affordable,” said Councilmember Schulman. “This is a place where you can come and not feel intimidated and as an older person, I find that especially appealing. I want to thank Planet Fitness for your contributions to the community.”

“Working out with everyone matters to me,” said Deputy Borough President Young. “I want to be with my people. I want to be with the community, so that’s why I have chosen to get my own Black Card® membership at Planet Fitness because this is our community!”

In celebration of the grand opening, Planet Fitness donated $1,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Queens. Together with the Boys & Girls Club of America, Planet Fitness aims to empower a generation to grow up contributing to a more judgement free planet – a place where everyone feels accepted and like they belong.

“We thank Planet Fitness for their generous donation to our organization,” said David Kupecky, Executive Director, Boys & Girls Club of Metro Queens. “At the Boys & Girls Club, we strive to provide a safe place for Queens youth to learn and grow, similar to the priorities of Planet Fitness. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Planet Fitness Supreme in their new location.”
