New Sunnyside Rentals

The owner of a parcel at 43-09 52nd Street in Sunnyside has filed plans to develop a nine-story residential building at the site, according to information posted on the YIMBY (Yes, In My Back Yard) website.

The proposed 9-foot-tall building will feature 24,547-square-feet of residential space with 33 units, a cellar and a 30-foot-long rear yard, according to YIMBY.

The building will be conveniently located just steps from the MTA 52nd Street No. 7 station in Sunnyside.

Demolition permits have not been filed for a three-story building currently at the site.

An estimated completion date has not been announced.

 

Affordable Housing Lottery Launched for Halletts Point 7

The affordable housing lottery has launched for Halletts Point 7, a 14-story residential development at 3-3 27th Avenue in Astoria.

The building is a 100 per cent affordable New York City Housing Authority development, with 145 units available on NYC Connect for residents at 40 to 60 per cent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $25,372 to $86,460, according to a post on the YIMBY (Yes, In My Back Yard) website.

The development features a tenant lounge, community room, fitness room, bike storage and a shared laundry room. Units are equipped wit large windows, energy-efficient appliances and light fixtures, designer hardware, cable and internet access, according to YIMBY.

There are 16 studio units at 40 per cent of the AMI, with a monthly rent of $665 for incomes ranging from $25,372 to $42,720; 16 one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $841 for incomes ranging from $31,715 to $48,040; and 32 two-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $1,000 for incomes ranging from $38,058 to $57,640.

There are 20 studio units at 60 per cent of the AMI, with a monthly rent of $1,066 for incomes ranging from $39, 120 to $64,080; 20 one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $1,342 for incomes ranging from $48,892 to $72, 060 and 41 two-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $1,601 for incomes ranging from $58,663 to $86,460.

Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than November 21, 2022.
