Filled with holiday spirit and goodwill, Congressmember Carolyn B. Maloney (NY- 12) paid a visit to local children in her district who attend the Hour Children after-school program in Long Island City on December 17.

As she was spreading holiday cheer, Maloney also distributed gifts to the children.

“Hour Children does so much for this community – whether it is through its afterschool program, food pantry or daycare center, or other programs – I am honored to join them in giving back. It is the holiday season and it is important to remember that there are many, many needy families all over the city, the country and throughout the world. Last week we read about how Dasani and her family are fighting day after day just to survive in this city. We have a responsibility to make sure that Dasani is not left behind. Likewise, we must make sure that needy families and kids all across our city, country and world are not left behind,” said Maloney.
