COVID stifles humans, but it can’t stifle human creativity. The Astoria Performing Arts Center starts streaming the premiere of “ The Insiders: Musicals from the Quarantine” on May 22. A collaboration between 15 writers, five directors, and 16 actors who couldn’t be in the same room together, the show features six musicals that address life during the pandemic.

Expect Broadway hits, old-time radio bits, and poetry, along with conversations about isolation. Sessions are set for May 19 at 2 pm, May 20 at noon, May 26 at 2 pm, and May 27 at noon. Queensboro Dance Festival 2020 will start on May 16 and run until Oct. 4. Audiences will enjoy live presentations, classes, and Q&A sessions with choreographers. As to be expected in the world’s most diverse county, the lineup includes Arabic Bellydance, Ballet, Cumbia, Flamenco, Hip-Hop, Latin Ballroom, Modern, Tap, and West African.
