Councilmember James Gennaro was joined by City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, officials and workers from the Doe Fund, Assemblymember David Weprin and CB 8 member Martha Taylor to announce the start of the clean-up of the commercial stretch along Union Turnpike between 188th Street and Utopia Parkway.
