ACKERMAN PRAISES PASSAGE OF 9/11 HEALTH BILL: Following House passage of the 9/11 health and compensation program last week, which will provide medical care to thousands of people who were made sick or injured while working at Ground Zero after the 9/11 attack, Congressmember Gary Ackerman (D–Bayside/Long Island) stated: “The ghastly attack of 9/11 wasn’t just an attack on New York City, it was an attack upon the entire United States. The brave men and women in uniform who risk their lives every day in Afghanistan and elsewhere aren’t just defending New York City, they’re defending America.”
