$2.5G Reward For Info In Killing Of Mom-To-Be

By Liz Goff
Police are searching for an attacker who stabbed a pregnant woman to death inside the lobby of a Ridgewood residence early Sunday morning. Jennifer Irigoyen, 35, was found with multiple stab wounds to her neck and torso inside the lobby of the building on Myrtle Avenue near Decatur Street in Ridgewood at about 1 am on February 3, police said. Irigoyen, a classically trained pianist and licensed real estate agent, also worked as an interior designer and was attending the Fashion School of Technology. Neighbors said the woman, who was five months pregnant and supplemented her income as a fitness trainer, had just recently moved into the Queens neighborhood.

A neighbor called 911 after hearing Irigoyen and an unidentified man yelling loudly just before 1 am on Sunday, a police source said. “The neighbor said the victim was crying and yelling something about wanting to protect the baby. Then all they heard was the woman screaming, and the man yelling.” Irigoyen was taken to Wyckoff Heights Hospital where she died at 2:30 am. Her baby also did not survive.

Police are searching for a man who was spotted running from the scene. A police source said investigators believe that the man, who is believed to be Irigoyen’s boyfriend, allegedly left a trail of bloody boot prints as he headed out of the building and then north on Myrtle Avenue.
