Alleviating Flooding In Southeast Queens

Queens Borough President Katz joined Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Vincent Sapienza (seated, second from r.) and Department of Design and Construction Commissioner Lorraine Grillo (seated r.) at an October 24 press conference on the progress of the City’s commitment of $1.9 billion on projects to alleviate flooding in southeast Queens. Roughly 20 percent of that funding has been committed to 10 completed projects and to another 10 currently under construction.  An additional 25 projects will break ground in the coming years. Assembly Member Clyde Vanel and Council Members Donovan Richards, I. Daneek Miller and Adrienne Adams (seated, l.) also attended.
