National Day Of Remembrance

A ceremony was held outside Queens Borough Hall on September 25 in recognition of the National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims, an annual observance held to honor the memories of those whose lives have been lost due to homicide. Queens Borough President Melinda Katz joined the loved ones of murder victims in releasing balloons in tribute to those victims. The ceremony and related events were organized by the Jamaica-based LIFE Camp and other local non-violence groups to promote the fight against gun violence and show support for the friends and family members of those who were taken from us much too soon.
