Cobblestones Pub is proud to announce the opening of Forest Hills’ first and only Biergarten, just in time for a fabulous Oktoberfest! Cobblestones Pub has been a mainstay on Queens Blvd, serving generations of patrons for the past 33 years. No one can rival Cobblestones Pub for its spacious bi-level dining space, great food at reasonable prices, and now, an impressive Biergarten. Owner Pete Massaro is practically the mayor of the town, known for his basketball playing skills. He and his son Pete Jr. are happy to welcome you to their 3,500 square foot biergarten, a cool, breezy space with lots of long, communal picnic-style tables, umbrellas, nice shrubs, and a massive bar to keep everyone’s thirst quenched. The focal point of this unique biergarten is the artfully designed, mosaic “waterfall” fed by beer taps that keep cool water flowing all day long.

The menu at Cobblestones Pub has been re-vamped to include biergarten favorites such as classic bratwurst, chickenwurst, kasewurst with cheddar cheese inside, and spicy currywurst. I tried the smoked Polish kielbasa and it was grilled perfectly so that the skin was slightly charred and crisp on the outside, but when I bit into it, it was juicy and tender inside, with a nice smoky flavor and great texture. All the sausages are served with bread, sauerkraut, and German potato salad. I hear the giant Bavarian pretzel with cheese sauce and mustard for dipping is a popular appetizer or snack, as are the potato pancakes.

Meanwhile, back inside the dining rooms, there’s lively conversation in the bar area, casual dining at the high top tables, and quiet dining a few steps up in the upper dining room. By the way, this separate area is ideal for your private party, shower, birthday, or business lunch. Everyone was enjoying Cobblestones’ delicious food, the favorites of which have not changed. For appetizers inside, outside, or at the bar, everyone loves the mac and cheese bites, chili nachos with melted cheddar, or their addictive chicken wings, regular or boneless, topped with your choice of eight sauces.

My mom and I shared a quesadilla stuffed with tender chicken and cheese, topped with fresh salsa and sour cream and it was so good, we took some home.

This quesadilla could be shared as an appetizer or a meal for one. Steak tidbits on garlic bread is popular at the bar, and they even make a nice thin crust pizza for one.

Cobblestones Pub has been making baby back ribs for decades and their coveted recipe has the meat just falling off the bone. They’re so good, mom and I fought over the last one ($15.95/half rack). The 14- ounce NY strip steak is topped with crispy onions and they’re ready for Oktoberfest with classic Jagerschnitzel or beef schnitzel, gently fried, then topped with creamy mushroom sauce and bacon.

Stop in at lunchtime or anytime for one of their juicy, half pound burgers, served with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, and French fries for just $11.95. Cobblestones’ sandwiches are a two-handed affair, stuffed with BBQ pulled pork, B.L.T., Buffalo chicken wrap, or the Cobble chicken hero with crispy fried chicken, bacon, cheese, and gravy. Keep it light with a grilled chicken wrap or one of their fresh salads like the Cobb salad with grilled chicken, avocado, hard cooked egg, bacon and tomato ($13.95). Finish your meal with a slice of creamy cheesecake or molten lava cake with vanilla ice cream.

Cobblestones Pub and Biergarten has a relaxing Happy Hour with $5 margaritas served plain or flavored with coconut, mango, or strawberry. Taco Tuesdays features $2 tacos from 4 pm to 2 am. It goes without saying that there’s an extensive selection of beers here in bottles, and on tap, with specials brews coming for Oktoberfest.

The expert barmen will mix up any of your favorite cocktails or pour you a glass of wine.

Visit Cobblestones Pub and Biergarten soon for cocktails, casual dining in the neighborhood, and now, an expansive Biergarten to enjoy!
