Police Search For Man In Domestic Stab-Dispute

By Liz Goff
Police are searching for a man who stabbed a 31-year-old woman as she was exiting a livery cab in Elmhurst on August 29th.

Cops said Juan Portoviejo argued with the victim as she exited the cab near Lamont Avenue and Forley Street at about 5 a.m. on August 29th.

The dispute turned violent when Portoviejo suddenly pulled a knife and stabbed the woman multiple times in the neck and torso, police said. Portoviejo then fled the scene in an unknown direction.

The woman was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center where she was listed in serious but stable condition.

Portoviejo is described as a Hispanic male, 33-years-old, 5-feet, 5-9nches tall and 150 pounds.

Investigators believe the violence was sparked by a domestic dispute, a police source said.

Anyone with information on Portoviejo’s whereabouts is urged to call the CrimeStoppers Hotline or click on www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
