Liu On The Campaign Trail For State Senate

Former City Comptroller John C. Liu is running against incumbent Tony Avella for the State Senate District 11 seat in the upcoming Democratic primary on September 13. The senatorial district encompasses College Point, Whitestone, Flushing, Bayside, Little Neck and Douglaston. As seen in the recent Congressional primary, longtime Congress Member and Democratic Caucus Chair Joe Crowley lost the Democratic nomination to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez by a large margin. Liu has taken his campaign to the street and intends to see as many Democratic voters as possible. Many voters don’t tend to come out for the primaries, but the popular candidate can lose their spot if they don’t win the primary vote. Liu intends to stress to everyone the fact that complacence doesn’t win races. John Liu is seen here (l.) stopping by the home of Paul Halvatzis (r.) in Flushing asking for his support.
