Toddler Hospitalized In Three-Story Plunge

Two quick-thinking Sunnyside women helped save the life of a 2-year-old boy who was clinging to a third floor fire escape on Saturday evening.

Cops said the women heard the boy crying and spotted him dangling from the fire escape at about 6 p.m. on August 4th.

The toddler lost his grip and fell to the sidewalk, but the two women managed to catch the boy just before he hit the pavement, police said.

Police said the mother and the boy were inside their fourth floor apartment just before 6 p.m. on August 4th when she turned away for a minute and he somehow made his way out an open window.

An EMS crew rushed the baby to Elmhurst Hospital Center where he was listed in stable condition.
