Police are investigating the death of a Queens man whose body was discovered on an Astoria sidewalk on August 9th.

Cops responding to 911 calls at about 12:48 a.m. on August 9th discovered the lifeless body of a 48-year-old man in front of 20-16 18th Street in Astoria, police said.

The victim was unresponsive and had suffered severe head and face trauma and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital of Queens, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The city Medical Examiner’s Office will perform an autopsy to determine cause of death and if the death was a homicide.

The victim’s mouth was stuffed with grass and weeds, a law enforcement source said.

Investigators believe the murder may have been sparked by an ongoing feud between the victim, his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend, the source said.
