Hunt Queens Man In Traffic Agent Attack

Police are searching for a 35-year-old Queens man who tossed an unknown liquid in the face of a female traffic agent in Astoria on July 20th.

Cops said the agent summonsed a black Nissan Rogue for double parking on Steinway Street at about 5 p.m. on July 20th and moved on. The driver and a passenger returned to the Nissan moments later, retrieved the summons and pulled out of the parking spot, a police source said.

The two men returned to Steinway Street in the Nissan moments later and spotted the agent, police said. They pulled alongside the agent and Haythem Salam tossed a clear liquid on the woman from the front passenger side of the SUV sped from the scene, police said.

Salam is described as a Middle Eastern male, 5-feet, 6-inches tall and 180 pounds, with black hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a blue T-shirt at the time of the attack.

The traffic agent was taken to a local hospital where she was treated and released.
