HANAC Appoints New CEO

HANAC, an NYC-based multi-faceted social services organization, announced on July 24 the appointment of Zoe C. Agios as its new CEO. She succeeds John Kaiteris who retired after 24 years of service.

Ms. Agios comes to HANAC with broad and deep executive leadership and business experience at such prestigious firms as Prudential and MasterCard. She successfully led many diverse business lines and complex, large-scale projects.

As a non-profit advocate, she leveraged her international and multicultural business experience to help those in need around the world. Her works included marketing AARP’s insurance membership programs; establishing a private foundation to support women, children and seniors, now part of the King Baudouin Foundation; and serving as a board member of a New York nonprofit that supports the needs of the disabled.

Her expertise in developing key infrastructure capabilities at both for-profit and non-profit organizations, her proven track record of managing key relationships with stakeholders and policymakers, and her passion for sharing her expertise to help cause-driven organizations, make her uniquely qualified to lead HANAC. Her experience in developing new business opportunities will greatly benefit HANAC as the organization enters a new phase of growth.

“After a wide-ranging search, we have found a new CEO for HANAC that is a great match for what our organization needs. She is someone who will help us grow and add value to our mission of providing senior housing and social programs that service the needs of New York’s vulnerable population. We are confident that Ms. Agios’ extensive, wide-ranging leadership experience, coupled with her enthusiasm and passion make her the right person to lead HANAC to the next level,” said Evangeline Douris, chair of the HANAC Board of Directors.

“I am thrilled to be part of an organization that clearly shares my passion for helping others and making a positive impact on society. HANAC’s history of providing a wide range of critical community-based services for vulnerable New Yorkers is a testament to the dedication and hard work of its people. You could describe this opportunity as a dream job for me. I can use my extensive business experience to further HANAC’s cause and lead a wonderful team of caring individuals,” said Agios.
