Hunt Gunman In LIC Double Shooting

Police are searching for an enraged man ho opened fire outside a Long Island City nightclub early on July 21st, firing several rounds and striking two club patrons.

Cops said the group entered into a verbal dispute outside the Melrose Ballroom at 36-08 33rd Street in the Dutch Kills section of Long Island City at 4:10 a.m. on July 21st. The loud argument drew a crowd of people to the scene, a police source said. “They wanted to see what the shouting was about.”

The dispute turned violent when the shooter suddenly walked to a car parked nearby and returned with a firearm, police said. “People in the crowd ran in different directions when they saw the gun,” an eyewitness told the Gazette.

The gunman opened fire, striking a 23-year-old man in the left leg. He then turned the weapon on a 34-year-old woman, striking her in the right leg.

The male victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital of Queens where he was listed in stable condition. The woman was taken in stable condition to Elmhurst Hospital Center.

The victims have been unable to provide investigators with a description of the suspect, who fled following the shootings in a dark-colored Mazarati sedan.
