Auto Strip Faces Demolition

A Northern Boulevard commercial strip long inhabited by auto repair, auto body and parts shops will soon face a wrecking ball to make way for new development at the site.

The row of one- and two-story buildings at 97-04 Northern Boulevard in Jackson Heights will be demolished to make way for the project, according to the city Department of Buildings website.

Forest Hills-based Platinum Realty Associates has not released plans for the new development. The parcel is located next door to a Speedway Gas Station.

Platinum is currently developing several commercial/residential buildings in western Queens and Long Island City, along with a large-scale theater complex on Queens Boulevard in Sunnyside.
