Driver Busted In Traffic Agent Beatdown

A 28-year-old motorist is facing assault charges for punching a city traffic agent, police said. Cops said the 52-year-old traffic agent had just finished writing a summons for a car illegally parked on 102nd Street in Corona at about 11 a.m. on May 29th when the driver went into a rage and attacked the agent.

Delvin Pena began punching the agent in the face and shouting his displeasure about the summons, police said.

Pena was charged with assault at his arraignment at Queens Criminal Court.

The agent was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries he suffered in the attack, a fire spokesperson said.
