Hunt Suspect In Clothes Factory Shoplift

Police are searching for a sharp dressing man who swiped merchandise from a Burlington Coat Factory store in Rego Park on May 17th.

Cops said when store security guards blocked the suspected shoplifter as he tried to exit the store on 63rd Road at about 2:30 p.m. on May 17th, he showed them what looked like a firearm, and made off with a $30 duffel bag.

Surveillance footage shows the man running from the store with the bag, police said. The surveillance also shows the man sticking his tongue out and gesturing to someone to follow him out of the store, police said. It is unclear if the man was actually in possession of a firearm, police said. It is also unclear if the man made off with additional merchandise.

The suspect was wearing a blue jacket, two-tone pants and a gold necklace at the time of the theft.
