Attempted Bank Robbery In Forest Hills

Photo Tony BarsamianThe New York City Police Department is asking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating an individual who is wanted in connection with an attempted robbery which occurred within the confines of the 112th Precinct.

It was reported to police that on Tuesday, May 22, at approximately 11:05 am, the individual entered the First Central Savings Bank located at 71-66 Austin Street in Forest Hills and approached the bank teller. The individual then passed a note demanding money. When the teller took too long to respond to his demands, the individual walked out of the bank empty-handed. He changed his clothes after he left the bank and fled on foot westbound on Austin Street.

The individual is a male, white, 30 to 40 years old, 6’0” in height, with a mustache. When he entered the bank he was wearing a blue and white hooded sweater, gray sweatpants and blue sneakers. Once he was outside of the bank he took off the sweater and changed his shoes; he was last seen wearing a black short-sleeved shirt, gray pants and black shoes.
