Breaking Ground On Kew Gardens Hills Playground

Queens Borough President Melinda Katz participated in the April 16 groundbreaking ceremony (held indoors due to rain) for a student-designed and environmentally friendly playground that is to be built on the grounds of IS 250, PS 255 and the Queens School of Inquiry in Kew Gardens Hills. The project is being funded by a $500,000 allocation from Borough President Katz, a $250,000 allocation from Council Member Rory Lancman, a $446,420 allocation from the New York City Department of Environmental Protection and a $333,000 allocation from the Trust for Public Land.
