Nolan Celebrates African American History At Astoria Houses

Assembly Member Catherine Nolan joined NYC Council Member Costa Constantinides and NYS Senator Michael Gianaris in celebrating Black History Month by honoring several individuals at Astoria Houses.

The honorees included Melva Miller, Queens Deputy Borough President; Bishop Mitchell G. Taylor, co-founder and CEO of Urban Upbound; Claudia Coger, President, Astoria Tenants Association; Dr. Sharon Cadiz, Director, Best Practices, Reality House; Cynthia Davis, Director of Community Outreach, Floating Hospital; and Ann Gordon-Chang, Principal, PS 85.

“Congratulations to all of the well-deserved honorees who continue to make great contributions to our communities in Western Queens” said Assembly Member Nolan.  “Thank you to NYC Councilman Costa Constantinides for his leadership on this wonderful annual event at Astoria Houses in which I was so happy to join in cosponsoring.  It was a pleasure to be together with Costa, Senator Michael Gianaris, Borough President Melinda Katz and many other leaders at Astoria Houses.”
