Ringing In The “Year Of The Dog”

Queens Borough President Melinda Katz marched with members of her Queens General Assembly during the 2018 Flushing Lunar New Year Parade, which drew thousands of spectators to downtown Flushing on February 17. Lunar New Year began on February 16 and is the most important holiday in many Asian countries, with celebrations typically taking place over a 15-day period. This Lunar New Year marks the arrival of the “Year of the Dog,” the 11th year in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac.
