St. John’s Prep Student Attacked

Police are searching for a suspect who followed an 18-year-old student into a private high school in Astoria on February 11, where he repeatedly beat the student and stole his cell phone.

Cops said the suspect followed the victim into the campus of St. John’s Preparatory School at 21-21 Crescent Street at about 6:40 p.m. on February 11. The man then entered an elevator inside the school with the victim and repeatedly punched the teen in the head.

The suspect then grabbed the victim’s cell phone and fled in an unknown direction, police said.

The teen was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital of Queens, where he was treated for his injuries and released.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s, approximately 6-feet-tall and 17 pounds. He was wearing a blue jacket and blue jeans at the time of the attack.
