Founded by David Kilmnick, the LGBT Network has been serving Long Island for over 24 years as an association of non-profit organizations encompassing Long Island Gay and Lesbian Youth (LIGALY), The Long Island LGBT Community Center (The Center) and Services and Advocacy for LGBT Elders – Long Island (SAGE-LI). The mission of the newly minted Q-Center is to aid underserved communities through dynamic programming. Additionally, the Q-Center allows the Network to expand its operations and provide important services, such as anti-bullying and community education workshops that have had over 2,100 participants. “I am so proud to join my Queens colleagues in the opening of the new Queens LGBT Community Center (Q-Center)!” said Assembly Member Pheffer Amato (D-South Queens). “The Q-Center is a needed resource for our communities, providing valuable services such as anti-bullying and educational workshops. Congratulations to the LGBT Network and thank you for all the work you do every day!”
