Weprin Partners With MS 172 For Holiday Toy Drive

Children across Queens got a special surprise this holiday season thanks to the students of Irwin Altman Middle School 172 and Assembly Member David Weprin, who joined together this season to collect toys as part of Weprin’s district-wide Holiday Toy Drive. The 2017 drive was held in memory of Jason Mark Weinstein, son of the Honorable Jeremy S. Weinstein of the Supreme Court of Queens County and grandson of former Assembly Speaker and Judge Moses Weinstein. Toys collected benefit charitable organizations including HeartShare Human Services of New York’s Cuomo Early Childhood Center and the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Queens, both of Richmond Hill. As children gathered to show the toys collected, Weprin thanked the students and staff of M.S. 172 (Floral Park) for helping with the Holiday Toy Drive. “I’d like to thank all of the students, parents, teachers and staff at M.S. 172 for their generous donations, and especially Principal Jeffrey Slivko and Student Organization Advisor William Sasso.” said Weprin. “By sharing your generosity and these toys, you all are truly performing a mitzvah, or good deed, for our community.”
