Schools Chancellor Farniña Announces Retirement

Fariña had come out of retirement to take the chancellorship. She was joined by Mayor Bill de Blasio, who declared at the press conference that overflowed with media, “She will go down in history as one of the most extraordinary chancellors in the history of New York City.” “Carmen has led with love throughout her career,” offered NYC First Lady Chirlane McCray. Chancellor Carmen Fariña noted with tears in her eyes, “The one thing I am most proud of is our outreach to the community.”
