Chair Stretching & Meditation at the Queens Library. SHAREing & CAREing offers a regular monthly program at Elmhurst and they adapt the topic on a monthly basis to meet the ongoing needs of the community. Many patrons have expressed an interest in a simple, accessible exercise program. So on December 8, SHAREing & CAREing Program Manager Merryl Reichbach developed and presented Chair Stretching and Meditation at the Adult Learning Center at the Elmhurst Branch of the Queens Public Library.

High School Outreach Program at Maspeth High School. In November, S&C’s cancer education program was presented in 12 separate classes over the course of two days at Maspeth High School. Over 1,000 students, faculty and staff attended the program, which is an annual tradition at this school.

Shopping and Eating Healthy on a Budget Workshop at the Queens Library. This engaging workshop, which S&C gave at the Rochdale branch of the Queens Library, focused on menu and budget planning, shopping skills, nutrition information and food preparation strategies that contribute to healthy eating on a budget.
