Hunt Suspect In Theft From Astoria Worker

By Liz Goff
Police are searching for a man wanted in connection with the theft of cash from an employee at an Astoria pharmacy.

Cops said the suspect entered the American Specialty Pharmacy at 26-20 Hoyt Avenue at about 4:30 p.m. on December 6 and asked an employee for assistance with a purchase.

While the worker was assisting the suspect, the man allegedly removed the worker’s wallet from his pocket, removed an undisclosed amount of cash and placed it back in the worker’s pocket, police said. The suspect then ran from the scene in an unknown direction.

The worker suspected foul play, and alerted police when he realized the cash was gone, police said.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5-feet, 7-inches tall and 150 pounds. He was dressed all in camouflage at the time of the theft.
