Third Annual Whitestone Village Tree Lighting

The Third Annual Whitestone Village Tree Lighting was held on Saturday, December 2. The event took place in Harpell’s parking lot at 14th Ave. and 150 Street. There was live holiday music, free refreshments, singing from school choirs and performances from dance groups to get everyone into the holiday spirit. Santa was available to take pictures with kids, and there was a ceremonial Christmas Tree and Menorah Lighting. They collected new, unwrapped toys for the kids at St. Mary’s Children’s Hospital. Vallone said the tree lighting was bigger and better than ever. “No better way to kick off the holiday season than with this incredible event that brings out the Whitestone community for an afternoon of family fun and cheer. I’m proud to sponsor this event with the Whitestone Village Merchant Association and the We Love Whitestone Civic Association. Thank you so much to everyone who volunteered their time, effort, passion and more to make this event such a success, especially George Mirts and George Isaakidis. Also a very special thank you to Honey Bee Cakes, Tropical Revival Restaurant & Catering, Dunkin’ Donuts and Walgreens for their donations of food and desserts! Lastly, thank you to all the performers who put on a great show for everyone in attendance, including Landrum School of Performing Arts, the Fitzpatrick Academy of Irish Dance, In Motion Dance Center of NY, MichelleMarie-MM RockBand Camp and Whitestone’s own Gia Infantino.” The Third Annual Whitestone Village Tree Lighting was held on Saturday, December 2.
