In The Spirit of Giving

Members of the NYPD and FDNY who provided emergency assistance to the victims of the recent hurricanes in Houston, Florida and Puerto Rico showed their continued dedication to community service when they joined with Queens Borough President Melinda Katz in unloading a delivery of 2,000 turkeys that were generously donated to the Food Bank for New York City by the Stop & Shop supermarket chain. The turkeys were unloaded in front of Queens Borough Hall on November 15 and will be distributed to needy families for Thanksgiving. Stop & Shop will provide nearly 21,000 turkeys to hunger relief organizations this holiday season.
