Mom Busted For Leaving Kids In Car

Port Authority police arrested a Brooklyn mom on October 25, after she left her two young daughters in the back seat of her unlocked car, on an airport parking lot at LaGuardia Airport while she went on a job interview.

Cops discovered the girls, ages 7 and 8, in the car at about 3 p.m. on October 25. The girls told police they didn’t know where their mother had gone, and gave th3 name of their school when they were asked about next of kin, police said.

The officers brought the girls to a police substation at LaGuardia Airport, where they called the school to obtain a contact number for their mother, Nidia Joseph Delgado, a police source said.

Delgado told the cops she was in a job interview near the airport, and that she was certain the girls were “fine,” waiting in the unlocked car.

Cops said Delgado left the car running and the air conditioner on when she left them to go for the job interview.

Delgado was charged with acting in a manner injurious to a child at her arraignment at Queens Criminal Court, where she was released without bail.
