Urban Upbound Gala Tonight!

The 2017 Urban Upbound Gala is their 13th annual celebration. This year’s theme is “Pathways to Prosperity through Partnerships,” at 7:00 pm tonight, October 25, at City Winery (155 Varick Street, Manhattan).

The Urban Upbound Gala is the night they celebrate their progress in breaking cycles of poverty in low-income, public housing communities and the innovation in their approach to connecting people to careers, financial education, entrepreneurship, and education. The evening will bring together 200+ attendees from across the real estate, technology, business, civic, and philanthropic sectors. Funds from sponsorships, donations, and a silent auction will directly support the work Urban Upbound does to provide opportunity to 12,000 New Yorkers each year.

Urban Upbound will honor Joel Bergstein, President of Lincoln Equities Group and the visionary behind its partnership with the Durst Organization to provide New Yorkers with access to career training and placement within the city’s booming construction sector. This year’s theme, Pathways to Prosperity through Partnerships, is a nod to the exceptional individuals like Joel who Urban Upbound have partnered with to ensure that New York City is a place of opportunity for everyone.

“We are about $50,000 short of our goal of $300,000 so please consider purchasing a ticket and joining us for this special evening, or becoming a sponsor to highlight your organization’s commitment to breaking cycles of poverty in New York City,” said Bishop Mitchell Taylor, founder and President of Urban Upbound. He added, “If you’re unable to make it, I hope you’ll consider making a tax-deductible donation on our website to support the event. Thank you so much, and I hope we can depend on your support and celebrate with you on October 25.”

Urban Upbound is located at 12-11 40th Ave., Long Island City, NY 11101. The phone number is 718-784-0877.
