The event was held to honor the volunteers who serve our City as NYPD Auxiliary Police Officers. Auxiliary Police Officers assist the NYPD with uniformed patrols, traffic control, crowd control and other non-enforcement duties and are trained to observe and report conditions requiring a police response. During the event the Borough President issued Declarations of Honor to the auxiliary police units at all of Patrol Borough Queens North’s eight precincts. Katz is shown here with Inspector Phylis S.
