Lane High School ROTC under the leadership of Lt. Col. Garcia and Sergeant Master Carr gave a demonstration of their skills.

Garcia and Sergeant Master Carr gave a demonstration of their skills. held on the afternoon of Sunday, October 1 on Jamaica Avenue, from 80th Street to Woodhaven Boulevard in Woodhaven. There were pony rides, games, delicious sausage and other ethnic foods, and a Maria Thomson, Executive Director of the Greater Woodhaven Development Corporation and Woodhaven Business Improvement District received a karate statue  from Imperial Dragon Hombu Dojo karate school, in celebration of their 26th year appearing at the annual Wonderful Woodhaven Street Festival 2017.Maria Thomson, Executive Director of the Greater Woodhaven Development Corporation and Woodhaven Business Improvement District received a karate statue from Imperial Dragon Hombu Dojo karate school, in celebration of their 26th year appearing at the annual Wonderful Woodhaven Street Festival 2017.variety of vendors with unique products, along with Woodhaven’s great shops offering dynamite bargains. Also, the fantastic restaurants of Woodhaven were featured.  This year, as they do every year, GWDC lined up great entertainment for the festival, with Mary Lamont and her country and western band, the Malaysian Lion Dancers of Chinese New Year fame, and additional entertainers inspired the crowd.
