Cops Nab Road Rage Slasher

By Liz Goff
A 28-year-old Brooklyn man found himself behind bars on October 7, charged with slashing a man during a road rage incident on the Long Island Expressway (LIE.)

Cops arrested Julio Torres at his Brooklyn home after investigators tracked down the gray Honda Pilot he was driving at the tome of the incident.
Police said Torres was driving the Honda near the Maurice Avenue exit of the LIE at about 8:50 a.m. on October 6 when he cut off a cab and then stopped short in front of the taxi.
Torres, the male cabbie and his 25-year-old passenger exited their vehicles and started arguing, police said. During the dispute, the enraged Torres pulled a knife and slashed the passenger in his left calf before speeding away.
The passenger suffered a minor injury and refused medical treatment at the scene, fire officials said. The cabbie was not injured.
Torres was charged with assault, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon at his arraignment at Queens Criminal Court.
