Candlelight Vigil Rained Out; Wreaths Placed By UCCA

The United Community Civic Association and co-sponsors, the Port Authority of NY & NJ and the NYC Department of Correction’s “16th Anniversary 9/11 Candlelight Vigil” scheduled for Wednesday evening, September 6, was unfortunately rained out. “Though heartsick, erring on the side of caution due to the soggy condition of McManus Memorial Park, the solemn ceremony was canceled,” said Rose Marie Poveromo, UCCA President. She continued, “Wholehearted and sincere thanks to one and all for their 16 years of dedication, loyalty, and generosity of spirit to the community’s Memorial of Remembrance of those innocent souls lost on September 11, 2001.” The wreaths in McManus Memorial Park were placed by UCCA.
