Cops Probe Deadly Brawl Outside Elmhurst Club

Police are waiting for the results of an autopsy by the city Medical Examiner’s office to determine the cause of death of a Long Island man who died early Saturday, August 12, after tussling with two men outside an Elmhurst Gentlemen’s club.

Cops discovered Kevin Figueroa, 24, with a massive head wound, unconscious and unresponsive sprawled on Queens Boulevard near Hillyer Street – just a few feet from the Vanity Gentlemen’s Club - at about 4:30 a.m. on August 12, police said.

Figueroa was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital Center where he died a short while later.
Eyewitnesses told police Figueroa left the club, and minutes later got into a dispute with two men. The dispute turned deadly when a brawl erupted and Figueroa fell to the street. “The man was laying motionless on a sidewalk a few feet from the club when the ambulance arrived,” a police source explained. “The two men beat it, ran away when he hit the pavement.”

Police recovered surveillance footage that confirms eyewitness accounts of what happened outside the club. The footage also shows that Figueroa had no problems or squabbles inside the club, the police source said.

The medical examiner will determine if a blow to the head caused the fatal wound, or if it occurred when Figueroa fell to the street, an NYPD spokesperson said.
