Hunt Armed Suspect In Steinway Street Clothing Swipe

Police are searching for a man who stole wanted in connection with an armed robbery at a Steinway Street clothing store.

Cops said the suspect walked into the New York & Company store at 30-37 Steinway Street at about 5:25 p.m. on July 31, where he grabbed an assortment of clothing from shelves and headed for the exit.
When an employee tried to stop him from leaving with the goods, the suspect pulled a knife and threatened the worker. The suspect then walked out the door with the stolen clothing and fled in an unknown direction, police said.
The employee was not injured and refused medical attention at the scene, a fire spokesperson said.
The suspect is described as a black male, 30-to-40-years-old. He was wearing a white polo shirt, black jeans and white sneakers at the time of the robbery.
