Hair For Care Event At She Goes To Your Head

She Goes to Your Head hair salon has announced their event, Hair For Care, a hair donation event taking place at She Goes to Your Head hair salon (28-12 Steinway St. in Astoria), on Saturday, August 19. Anyone who would like to help is invited to come in and make a hair donation to Pantene Beautiful Lengths, the largest national movement and first campaign to create free, real-hair wigs for women with cancer. Hair provided by generous volunteers will be used to craft beautiful, high-quality wigs by Pantene’s partner, HairUWear. Then it will go to a woman affected by hair loss from cancer.

The event was suggested by a regular customer of the salon, Kimberly-Ann Ragonese, who wanted to do something to help cancer patients approached the salon with the idea. She also grew her hair out to be able to donate it and “set an example,” she said.

Participants will get a free styling after making the donation.

All those who wish to donate their hair must:

Call and book appointment for Saturday, August 19.

 Must mention “Hair For Care.”

Lock of hair must be 8 inches or more long, no less.

Must be virgin hair only (cannot be dyed with permanent color or highlights. Color rinse that will wash out after 28 washes is acceptable.)

All donated locks of hair will be sent to Pantene (visit Pantene.com for more information).

You can also donate money to Pantene to help with the making of the wigs from all donated locks of hair.
