Hunt Suspect In July 4th LIC Shooting

Police are searching for an armed suspect who shot a man two times during a violent dispute on July 4th.

Cops said the suspect and his 35-year-old victim were arguing opposite 38-38 Vernon Boulevard in Long Island City at about 9 p.m. on July 4th when the dispute turned violent.
The suspect suddenly pulled a gun and shot the victim in the left leg and stomach and then fled the scene, police said.
The victim was taken to Cornell Medical Center where he was listed in table condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are trying to determine what sparked the dispute and if the men knew each other prior to July 4th, a police source said.
The suspect is described as a black or Hispanic male, 30-40 years old, with short, cropped black hair.
