‘Dollar Seats’ On Sale For Kaufman Theater Summer Series

By Liz Goff
The folks at the United Artists Kaufman Astoria Cinema 14 are turning back the calendar to a time when people headed to local movie houses to take in a show and beat the summer heat.

Starting on July 4th, the theater will be selling seats for a dollar each, for a select series of family movies including “The Secret Life of Pets,” “The Spongebob Movie,” “Storks,” and “The Lego Batman Movie.”

The offer is made possible through Regal Cinema’s “Summer Express,” which rolls back prices at participating neighborhood theaters.

The Summer Express series will feature 18 movies for a dollar each. The shows start at 10 a.m. each Tuesday and Wednesday beginning July 4th through August 30th  - and the offer applies to both children and adults.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Will Rogers Institute to help further its program of cardiopulmonary disease research and to supply neonatal ventilator equipment to medical facilities throughout the United States.

Tickets may be purchased at the Kaufman Astoria Cinema box office at 35--30 38th St. in Long Island City or online at www.regalmovies.com. Visit the website for travel information to the cinema, or to view a complete schedule of movies featured in the Summer Express series. Private indoor and limited on-street parking is available.
