Photos Robert SchnellPhotos Robert SchnellForest Hills Gardens Celebrated their 103rd Children’s Day in Flagpole Green, sponsored by the Celebrations Association and the Men’s Club of Forest Hills. The pet judging contest was fast and furious, and everyone had a pawsome time. Sugar, a Newfoundland took home Best in Show.  Special awards were presented to Auggie and Sadie. The gourmet chefs of the Men’s Club grilled culinary delights. Over 500 children came and enjoyed the bouncy house, face and nail painting, climbing wall, trampolines, Dragon ride, pony rides and the big slide. Tennis instruction was given by members of the West Side Tennis Club. Members of Community Board 6’s CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) were on hand distributing literature on child and pet safety. Officers from the 112th Precinct were showing off their Mini Squad Car and the FDNY 305 Engine Company treated children to a tour of the rig, “the Pride of the Hills.” Forest Hills is a community united in their century-old tradition of celebrating the neighborhood children.
